STRAWBERRY OVEN FRENCH TOAST

1/2 cup sliced strawberries
1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese, softened
1 loaf French bread, sliced ¾ inch thick
10 eggs
3/4 cup half-and-half
1 tsp vanilla
1 quart hulled strawberries
1/3 cup sugar
3 tbsp water and orange-flavored liqueur
1 tbsp butter

Night before, combine 1/2 cup strawberries with cream cheese. Spread thickly on 1/2 bread slices and top with other slices. Mix eggs, half-and-half and vanilla in a wide, shallow pan. Place sandwiches in the pan, turning once. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.

Make strawberry sauce by cooking 1 quart hulled strawberries, sugar, water and liqueur for 5 minutes. Cool. Next morning, spray a pan with cooking spray and bake at 375 for 25 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with warmed sauce and confectioners sugar.
