PUMPKIN SQUARES

1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream, softened
1 cup pumpkin and sugar
1 tsp. salt, ginger and cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 cup chopped pecans
36 gingersnaps
Whipped cream
Pecans halves
Chill a mixing bowl. In a medium bowl, blend pumpkin, sugar, salt and spices. Stir in nuts. Place ice cream in chilled bowl. Fold in pumpkin mixture. Line bottom of a 13x9 inch baking pan with half of gingersnaps and half pumpkin mixture. Continue layering another time. Freeze until firm, about 5 hours. Cut into squares. Garnish with whipped cream and pecan halves.
