Beef Stew with Sweet Potatoes and Kale | Recipes & Meals - Stop&Shop

Ingredients
2 lbs boneless beef chuck steak cubes
½ cup flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp black pepper
2 tbsp canola oil
2 cups chopped onion
1 cup chopped celery
1 cup chopped carrots
2 cups chopped sweet potatoes
1 bunch kale, roughly chopped
1 quart low sodium chicken broth
1 15 oz can no-salt-added diced tomatoes
2 cups water
Steps

(1) Preheat a large skillet over medium high heat. Mix together the flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a large bowl. Add the chunks of beef, and toss until well coated with flourt. Add the oil to the pan, and brown the beef on all sides, turning occasionally; about 2-3 minutes per side.
(2) Drain browned beef on a plate lined with a paper towel. Add beef and remaining ingredients to a large slow cooker. Place on low heat, and cook for 6-8 hours.
