Chili - Bean

2 lbs ground beef
1 medium onion, finely diced
2 Tbsp garlic, minced
2 (15 oz) cans pinto beans, drained and rinsed
2 (15 oz) cans kidney beans, drained and rinsed
2 (15 oz) cans tomato sauce
2 (15 oz) cans diced tomatoes
6 Tbsp tomato paste
2 Tbsp maple syrup
6 Tbsp chili powder
4 tsp garlic powder
4 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 cups beef broth
***OPTIONAL TOPPINGS***
Cheddar cheese, shredded

1. Heat a large stockpot over medium - high heat. Add ground beef, onion, and minced garlic and sauté for 7-10 minutes.
2. Add pinto beans, kidney beans, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and maple syrup to the pot and stir to combine.
3. Add spices and beef broth and stir to combine.
4. Bring chili to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for at least 20 minutes to thicken.
