Snacks - Dip Bean

2 cups kidney beans, cooked and mashed
2 cups pinto beans, cooked and mashed
3/4 cup water, (water beans cooked in)
1/4 cup oil
3/4 cup onions, chopped
1 jalapeno pepper, chopped
3 tomatoes, peeled
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tsp chili powder
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp kelp
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 cup cheddar cheese, grated


1. In a large saucepan add the beans, water, oil, onions, pepper, tomatoes, garlic, chili powder, cumin and kelp. Simmer for 30 minutes.
2. Remove from heat and lemon juice and cheese. Blend until smooth.
3. Serve with pita bread, crackers or tortilla chips.
