Pasta - Cheesy Macaroni & Hot Dogs

4 cups elbow macaroni pasta, cooked and drained
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
17 ounces evaporated milk
1 cup American cheese, grated
1 cup sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
1 cup sliced hot dogs
1 1/2 tablespoon bread crumbs


1. Saute onions in butter. Stir in flour and salt. Blend in evaporated milk. Cook and stir over medium heat until thick and bubbly. Add cheeses. Stir until melted.
2. Remove from heat. Stir in macaroni and hot dog slices.
3. Place cheesy macaroni and hot dogs in a 1 1/2 quart casserole dish. Sprinkle with bread crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees F for 40 minutes or until heated through.
