Chicken Alfredo Casserole

6 oz fettuccine or medium egg noodles
3 Tbsp butter or margarine
3 Tbsp flour
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp black pepper
2 1/4 cups milk
2 1/4 cups chopped cooked chicken or turkey
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, for sauce
1 package (10 oz) frozen broccoli, thawed and drained
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, for topping
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 7" x 11" baking dish.
2. Cook the pasta as directed on package. Drain and set aside.
3. Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour while stirring and continue to stir until smooth.
4. Stir in the dried basil, salt, and pepper.
5. Stir in the milk and continue to cook over medium heat, stirring, until it is thick and bubbly.
6. Remove the pan from the heat. Stir in the cooked chicken, Parmesan cheese, and broccoli.
7. Stir the pasta into the chicken sauce and mix well to coat the pasta with the sauce.
8. Place the chicken and pasta mixture into the prepared baking dish. Cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes.
9. Remove the foil, sprinkle the top of the pasta with the remaining Parmesan cheese. Return the pan to the oven and bake, uncovered, for 5-10 minutes or until heated through and serve hot.
