Easiest Southern Pralines EVER!!

Category: Recipes

Perfect easy Pralines

2 cups Light Brown Sugar lightly packed
3/4 cup evaporated milk
1/2 stick real salted butter
dash of salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans (more/less to your pref.)
1 cup half filled with very cold water

Combine first 4 ingredients and bring to soft boil over stove. Turn down to light bubbling stage and stir stir stir. Never stop stirring. After stirring anywhere between 8-15mins start checking your mixture to see if ready. Drop a dab of mixture into the cup of cold water. If it immediately makes a little ball and floats to bottom, it is ready. Be patient as you MUST get to this stage or your pralines will not sit up. At ball stage remove from heat and add your vanilla and pecans. Continue to stir until the mixture starts to thicken and become a TAD bit more difficult to stir. It's ready. Lay down by tablespoon onto a long sheet of wax paper. Move quickly so mixture won't harden before you get all of your pralines laid out. After 5-10 minutes your pralines will start to harden.
It might take a few practice runs to get your timing down to a science. You should end up with creamy great tasting pralines!! Good Luck!
