Beer Boiled Shrimp and Red Sauce
Category: Seafood
Of all the recipes I have, this is always the first one I post when trying out a new site. It was also one of the first ones I tried when I started playing with my food. Hope you give it a try and let me know what you think.
FOR BEER BOILED SHRIMP
2 Lbs Large Shrimp (peeled)
3 Cans Favorite Beer (Please...no Lite Beer)
FOR RED SAUCE
1 Btl Chili Sauce
1/4 Tsp Horseradish (prepared is fine)
1 Tbl Lemon Juice
2 Tsp Worcestershire Sauce
2 Tsp Capers (finely chopped...optional)
Dash Garlic Powder (optional...but recommend)
Dash Gumbo File Powder
Dash Hot Pepper Sauce
DIRECTIONS
FOR BEER BOILED SHRIMP
Peel and rinse shrimp. Put beers in medium pot. Add shrimp and bring beer to a boil over medium heat (until shrimp start to pinken up). Watch the beer...it will try to boil over. If it does, remove from heat, stir, and return to heat until shrimp done to your liking.
FOR RED SAUCE
Add all red sauce ingredients in a bowl and blend.
Drain shrimp from beer and dip a shrimp!
This serves at least two people. Ingredients can be multiplied to serve more. It is a great appetizer, snackie food, or entre. Enjoy!
