  • 5 cooking apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 5 tablespoons cold butter, cut up

Grease the inside of the crock pot. Place the apples in the bottom.

Combine the brown sugar, flour, oats, ginger, nutmeg, and butter in a bowl. Cut the mixture with a pastry blender until it forms coarse crumbs. Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the apples.

Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 3-4 hours or until the apples are tender.

Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
