Goulash

1 pound ground beef
1 cup chopped onions
3 cups big/large elbow macaroni
2 cans tomato sauce (28 to 30 oz.)
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon chili powder (add more if desired)
1/4 of a green pepper diced (original)
Sautee ground beef, onions and green pepper until meat is lightly browned. Drain off excess fat. Add tomato sauce and seasonings to meat mixture. Mix thoroughly. Simmer over low heat for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
Bring 6 cups of water to a rapid boil. Add 3 cups of macaroni. Return to rapid boil, stirring to separate. Boil 2 minutes. Cover and remove from heat. Let stand for 9 to 11 minutes. Drain and add to sauce mixture.
Serve with garlic bread
Serves 4 to 6
