Creamy pepper jack cheese soup

1/4 cup shortening with 1/8 tsp. salt
2 T all purpose flower
1 small onion, grated
6 cloves garlic, minced
1(14.25) cantow-sodium broth
2 1/2 cups shredded pepper jack cheese
1 tsp. tabasco sauce
1/4 cup chopped cilantro leaves
Directions- melt butter into A large saucepan over medium heat. Stir about 5 minutes. Add onions and garlic, cook until the flour begins to turn golden brown and turns translucent.
Slowly whisk in chicken broth and milk. Bring to a simmer over medium high heat. Then reduce heat to medium low heat. Continue to simmer, stirring occasionally for 15 min.
Remove from heat and immeaditly whisk in shredded cheese until it has melted and soup is smooth.season with tobacco sauce, hot pepper sauce ,and black pepper.ladle and sprinkle on the ciltaro leaves when ready to be served.
