Corn Meal Waffles (Chicken and Waffles)

1 3/4 cups flour
1/4 cup yellow cornmeal
1 envelope 1/4 oz fast rising yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
1 tablespoon poultry seasoning
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups milk
6 tablespoons real butter
2 large eggs

Whisk together flour, cornmeal, seasoning and salt.
Combine milk and butter and microwave until butter is melted
Cool slightly and whisk a small amount of the eggs into the milk. Mix together.Add the rest of the milk into the eggs.
Make a well in the flour and pour milk mixture into flour. Stir to combine.

Cover and let stand at room temp for one hour.
Will bubble and increase in size

Cook waffles on waffle iron sprayed with non stick spray.
6 regular or 3 belgian waffles.

Serve with fried boneless chicken strips and milk gravy.

Gravy..
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
1 to 1 1/2 cups milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
black pepper

Melt butter and add flour. Stir until flour is light brown
Stir in 1 cup milk stirring constantly.
If too thick, add more milk.
Season with salt and pepper
