Nicoletti's Cajun Pasta

Yield: 4 generous servings.

1 cup (2 sticks) butter>

1/4 pound mushrooms, thinly sliced>

1 cup beer (Nicoletti's uses Budweiser)>

2 tablespoons minced garlic>

1 tablespoon chili powder>

1/2 teaspoon ground red (cayenne) >pepper>

1/4 teaspoon ground cumin>

1 pinch ground black pepper>

1 pinch salt>

3/4 pound frozen baby shrimp>

3/4 pound imitation crab, sliced into 1/2-inch pieces>

1 pound linguine, cooked and drained>

Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add mushrooms, beer, garlic, chili powder, cayenne, cumin, black pepper and salt. Add shrimp and imitation crab. Turn heat to high; simmer until liquid has reduced by about a third, about 5 minutes. Add linguine and toss.
