Mozzarella Rye Snacks

1 cup (4 ounces) shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup real mayonnaise (I like Hellman's Light)
1/2 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon Italian salad dressing mix **
(recipe below or buy package at the store)
1 loaf (16 ounces) snack rye bread
Directions
In a small bowl, combine the cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream and salad dressing mix until blended. Spread 1 tablespoonful over each slice of bread.
Place on greased baking sheets. Bake at 350 for 5-7 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve immediately.
Yield: 2 dozen.
** Dry mix
Ingredients 16 servings
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
2 tablespoon white sugar (or more if you like sweet dressing, I do)
2 tablespoons dried oregano
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 tablespoon dried parsley
1/4 teaspoon celery salt
1 1/2 tablespoons salt
Directions
In a small bowl, mix together the garlic salt, onion powder, sugar, oregano, pepper, thyme, basil, parsley, celery salt and regular salt.
Store in a tightly sealed container.
