1 cup soft bread crumbs. (can put a couple slices of bread into blender and make crumbs)
1/3 cup finely chopped green onons
1/3 cup finely chopped green pepper
1 (8oz) can water chestnuts, drained and chopped
1 egg, beaten
2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
1 garlic clove, minced
1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
2 pounds ground pork
Sauce
1 (8oz) can of crushed pineapple, drained
2/3 cup ketchup
1/4 cup vinegar
1/4 cup orange marmalade
2 tablespoons prepared mustard
8 hamburger buns
In a large bowl, combine the first 9 ingredienrs.crumble the pork over mixure and mix well. Shape into 8 patties. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour.
In a saucepan, combine the pineapple, ketchup, vinegar, marmalade, and mustard. Cook and stir for 5 minutes or until marmalade is melted. Remove from heat and set aside.
Grill patties, covered, over medium heat for 4-6 minutes on each side or until meat is no longer pink. Spoon 1 tablespoon of sauce on top of each burger during the last 2 minutes of grilling. (Can cook in skillet)
Serve on buns with extra sauce.
