Easy Cinnamon Loaf

- 1 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
***TOPPING***
- 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a loaf pan. Combine the flour, salt, baking powder, cinnamon, and sugar in a large bowl until well mixed. Add the shortening and cream with the dry ingredients with a mixer on low speed. Scrape down the sides often. Add the vanilla and egg and mix until incorporated. Add the milk slowly with the mixer running and mix until just combined. Put the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Combine the topping ingredients and sprinkle over the batter. Place the loaf pan in the oven and bake at 350 degrees F for 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes the remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
