Soulful Collards
very easy
serves 4
2 14 oz can of unseasoned Collard Greens
1 ham hock (you can use ham bone)
1 cup olive or vegtable oil
4 tsp sugar
2 beef bouillion cube
salt to taste
pepper to taste
1 teaspoon soul food seasoning
Use a large pot/dutch oven put in 1 cup vegtable/olive oil in pot on medium heat add ham hock .
Sear the ham hock until its slightly crispy. Add 2 cans of collard greens. To that add 1 bouillion cube. Put in 4 tsps of sugar, salt, pepper, & soul food seasoning. Bring to a boil (taste if not salty enough add additional bouillion cube).
Allow to simmer for 15-20 minutes on medium to low heat. Ham will be tender use a fork to remove from bone. Serve hot with cornbread
