Maw Maw’s Strawberry Cake

A 1970's favorite...
1 pkg. white cake mix
1 (3 oz.) pkg. strawberry gelatin
3 tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. vegetable oil
1/2 c. water
4 eggs
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen strawberries (5 oz. for cake, 5 oz. for icing)
Sift cake mix, flour, gelatin and salt into large mixing bowl. Add oil and water. Beat well. Add eggs, one at a time. Mix in 5 ounces mashed strawberries. Pour into greased 9X13 pan. Bake at 300-350 degrees for 30 minutes. While still warm but not right from the oven frost completely. It should be gooey!
ICING:
1 stick butter
1 box sifted confectioners' sugar
Cream butter. Gradually add sugar and remaining 5 ounce strawberries.
