Evie's Peanut Butter Cookies

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
1/2 c. peanut butter
1 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. Vanilla

Blend butter, sugars, salt, and egg. Add peanut butter and vanilla. Stir in flour, sifted with baking soda. Form into balls and place on a greased cookie sheet. Press down with a fork, criss-crossing the pattern on each cookie. Bake at 350"F for about 10 minutes or until just set. Do not overcook. Remove to was paper to cool.
