Big Mama’s Chocolate Chip Cookies

Originally From Doris Cooper’s mother, Grace Leach
Ingredients:
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 tsp water
2 large eggs
2 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate chips
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Preheat oven to 375° F. Mix everything except the chocolate and nuts. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. This is a stiff dough. Drop by spoonfuls onto buttered baking sheets.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
Note: Mrs. Leach mixed the dry ingredients in one bowl, then mixed the liquid in another, combining the two after both were blended.
