Mrs. Moody's Apple Pie

3 1/2 cups tart raw apples, cored and sliced
1 cup sugar
2 Tbsp flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 Tbsp butter
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1/8 tsp salt
1/2 tsp nutmeg

Combine all ingredients besides butter; let stand while preparing pastry.

Then place in the unbaked pie crust. Put dots of butter over apple filling. Place a top crust over the filling. Seal the sides of the crust and cut slits in the top crust to release steam. Bake at 350 for about an hour.
