Apple Crisp

6 cups dried apple slices
7 cups water
1/2 tsp salt

Add:
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cupt brown sugar
2 tsp apple spice (see below)
2 Tablespoons butter
1 Tablespoon lemon juice

Return to boil and add:
1/4 cup cornstarch mixed in
1/2 cup cold water
Stir until thickened slightly

Topping Mixture
1 cup flour
1 cup regular oats
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup margarine or butter
Cut margarine into other ingredients and crumble over apples mixture

Apple Pie Spice
8 tsp Cinnamon
2 tsp Nutmeg
1 tsp Cardamon or mace

Place apple mixture in a 9 x 13 baking dish and top with the flour crumb mixture

Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes.
