Fudge Icing

2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/4 c. white syrup
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 c. milk
2 sq unsweetened chocolate

Stir all ingredients over low heat until chocolate and shortening are melted; then stirring constantly, boil to full rolling boil exactly one minute. Remove from heat and beat gently until lukewarm. Add:

1 tsp vanilla

Continue heating until spreading consistency.
