2 1/2 lb apples
Pie crust
1 c. sugar
1 Tbsp apple pie spice
1/2 tsp nutmeg
2 Tbsp cornstarch
4 oz margarine
Oil for deep frying

Wash, peel, core and slice apples. Cook until tender. Combine sugar, apple pie spice, nutmeg & cornstarch. Fold into apples. Roll pastry 1/8" thick. Cut into 3" rounds or squares. Place a spoonful of apple mixture on each round. Dot with butter. Brush edges of rounds lightly with water. Place another round on top. Press edges firmly together with fork. Fry in deep fat at 360 until brown. Serve with cheese sauce.
