1 1/2 c. blanched whole almonds, pecan halves, walnut halves or cashews
1/2 c. sugar
2 Tbsp margarine or butter
1/2 tsp vanilla

Line a baking sheet with foil. Butter foil & set aside. In heavy 8” skillet, combine nuts, sugar and margarine. Cook over medium heat (Caution: mixture may splatter.), carefully stirring constantly, 9 minutes or until sugar melts and turns a rich brown. Remove from heat. Immediately stir in vanilla. Spread mixture onto prepared baking sheet. Cool completely. Break into small clusters. Store tightly covered.
