Sour Dough Biscuits

3 c. flour
3 tsp baking powder
3/4 c. shortening
3/4 c. cold water
1 1/2 tsp salt
3/8 tsp soda
1 c. sourdough

Always use a knife to stir in liquids. Sift flour, salt, baking powder, and soda together. Blend in shortening and hollow out center of mix. Pour in sourdough and cold water. Mix with knife until moisture is taken up, then turn out on well floured board and cut with biscuit cutter. Place biscuits on greased pan and bake at 450. To replenish starter, stir in 2 c. warm water and 2 c. flour.
