Tile Cookies

1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
4 Tbsp butter
3/4 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 Tbsp milk
Colored sugar

Sift flour, baking powder, and salt onto waxed paper. Cream butter with sugar until fluffy & light in a medium sized bowl. Beat in 1 egg and vanilla. Stir in flour mixture, 1/3 at a time alternately with milk blending to make a soft dough. Drop dough 1/2 tsp at a time, 2" apart onto a large greased cookie sheet. Spread into 1 1/2" rounds. Beat remaining egg well in a small bowl; brush on each cookie. Sprinkle with colored sugar. Bake at 375 for 5 minutes. Carefully remove each cookie and press around handle of wooden spoon. Place on wire racks. Cool completely. Makes 12 dozen.
