Old Fashioned Sour Cream Cookies

1/2 c. soft shortening
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 c. thick sour cream
1 tsp vanilla
2 3/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2/3 c. chopped nuts

Combine shortening, brown sugar, and eggs. Mix thoroughly. Stir in sour cream and vanilla. Stir in flour mixture. Add chopped nuts. Chill for 2 hours and drop by spoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400.

Frosting
2 c. powdered sugar
1/4 c. softened butter
2 Tbsp cream
1 tsp vanilla

Blend sugar and butter together. Add cream and vanilla stirring until smooth.
