Chocolate Chip Orange Hazelnut Cookies

Serves/Makes: 60 small cookies

Ingredients:
2 sticks unsalted butter, room temperature
zest of 1 orange
2 T freshly squeezed orange juice
1 extra large egg
2 1/4 cups flour
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 c white sugar
1/4 t salt
1 t baking soda
2 cups mini chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups chopped hazelnuts
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In the bowl of a stand mixer with the paddle attachment cream butter, sugars and orange zest until light and creamy. Add egg and orange juice and mix to combine. Add all dry ingredients and mix well.
On low speed add chocolate chips and nuts and mix until just incorporated.
Using a one ounce "ice cream" scoop, place 20 cookies on each silicone or parchment lined cookie sheet. Bake for exactly 11 minutes turning the pan half way through.
Cooks Notes - These gems are gone in a bite or two. I use the mini chocolate chips because of the size of the cookie. The big ones seem to stick out and even burn a little on the bottom. Change it up with your favorite nut. These are a real crowd pleaser.
