Slow Cooker Teriyaki Chicken

Ingredients:
4 large leg and thigh chicken quarters
2 T Olive Oil
1 10oz jar teriyaki sauce (not merinade)
3 T honey
10 scallions chopped (white and green part)
handfull of cilantro - chopped
1 T + 1 t fresh ginger grated
2 large cloves garlic - grated
Directions:
Turn crockpot on low.
Salt and pepper both sides of chicken. In large skillet heat olive oil and brown Chicken on both sides about 8 minutes total.
Place chicken in bottom of warmed crockpot. Spread grated ginger and garlic evenly over chicken. Add honey and teriyaki sauce. With tongs turn chicken over coating it with honey and sauce. Add scallions and cilantro.
Cover with lid and cook low for 5 hours or high for 3 hours.
1/2 hour before serving make rice or wide noodles. Serve teriyaki chicken on top of rice or noodles and garnish with chopped fresh cilantro.
Cooks Notes: I made this for a night I was not going to be home. My husband came in the house and said he was met with the most amazing aroma and almost didn't notice I wasn't there. Later that night when I got home the house still smelled great and the chicken tasted just as good.
