Aunt Becky's Berry Lemonade

Category: Cold Drinks

Serves/Makes: 1 large pitcher
Difficulty: 1
Prep Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

1 Bag frozen tri-berries - thawed not drained
1 container (12 oz) frozen lemonade
4 cans water
1/2 cup plus 2 T lemon simple syrup*
1 1/2 liters of lemon lime soda
Optional - For adults at 3/4 c watermelon vodka or 3/4 c lemoncello

Directions:

Put thawed berries with the juice in large pitcher and press with back of wooden spoon. Add frozen lemonade, cooled simple syrup and water. Stir well.

At this point if this is for adults add the watermelon vodka or lemoncello. If you are not going to serve immediately store the mixture so far in the refrigerator. If you add the lemon lime soda to far in advance it won't keep the bubbles.

When ready to serve add 1 1/2 liters of lemon lime soda. Mix well and pour.

* For lemon simple syrup, in small sauce pan add 1 cup white sugar and 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice and 1/2 cup water. Heat til sugar is dissolved and mixture is clear. Turn off heat and pour in a glass container to cool. I store my simple syrups in squeezy bottles in the fridge and use them for drinks every day.
