Mango or Papaya Salsa

2 tablespoons chopped green onions
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
1 tablespoon finely minced ginger
1 cup chopped mango or papaya flesh
2 tablespoons light-brown sugar
3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
2 tablespoons Thai or Vietnamese fish sauce or low-sodium soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon Asian chili sauce, or hot sauce of choice

In a small bowl, combine all the ingredients. The salsa will keep for up to 12 hours in the refrigerator.

Serve with corn chips or toasted pita triangles.
Yields 1 3/4 cups.
