Creamy Mushroom Butter

1/4 cup butter
1 cup sliced mushrooms
1/2 stick butter
2 tbsps. sour cream
1/4 tsp. salt
4 tbsps. sherry

Melt 1/4 cup butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms and cook, stirring until tender. Cool.

Combine mushrooms with 1/2 stick butter and the sour cream, salt and sherry in an electric blender. Blend until smoother. Chill before serving on steak, poultry or as a spread on crackers.
Yields about 1 1/2 cups.
