White Butter Cake

1 cup butter softened
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups sifted cake flour
1 cup milk
2 teaspoons baking powder
7 egg whites

Cream butter and sugar. Add vanilla. Sift flour with baking powder and add alternately with milk, beating well after each addition of flour. Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry and fold into cake batter.

Bake in 3 greased 9 inch cake pans in slow oven, 325 degrees for minutes. Turn out on cake racks.

When cool, frost with your favorite frosting.
Yields 3, 9 inch cakes.
