Onion, Cheese and Bacon Quiche

1 frozen pastry style pie crust or your favorite pie crust recipe
6 slices bacon, cut in 1" pieces
1 small onion, chopped
3 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 cup shredded Swiss or Gruyere cheese
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
add grating of fresh nutmeg

Preheat oven 375 degrees.
Line quiche or pie pan with pastry. Cook bacon until crisp. Drain and place in bottom of uncooked pie shell. Saute onion in bacon fat until lightly browned.

Drain and add to pie shell. In small bowl combine remaining ingredients. Stir to combine thoroughly. Pour in pastry shell, bake 25 to 30 minutes or tests done.
Serve hot, warm, or at room temperature.
Serves 6 to 8.
