Category: Recipes
Serves/makes: 8
Prep time: approx. 20min. & refrigerate 1-2 hours before serving.
Ingredients:
1 Stick of margarine
1 cup of flour
1/2 cup chopped nuts(optional)
8oz package of cream cheese(whipped)
1 cup of confectioners sugar
1 (2.1oz.)box of instant chocolate pudding
3 cups of milk
1 Tbsp. Vanilla flavoring
1 (16oz.) container of cool whip
13x9in. glass pan
Directions:
To make your crust:(1st layer)
Mix the first 3 ingredients in medium size bowl. Mix until it looks like crumbs(best to use a whisp). Bake on 350 degrees for 15min.
2nd layer:
While that's baking begin mixing 1c. confectioners sugar, 8oz. cream cheese, & 1 cup cool whip. Whisp until it's like a very thick frosting like mixture. Spread evenly on top of crust.
3rd layer:
Mix Chocolate instant pudding, 3 cups of milk, & 1Tbsp. vanilla flavoring. Stir for 2min. & let stand for 5min. Pour pudding over 2nd layer.
4th layer:
Spread the rest of the cool whip on top of the 3rd layer. This is your topping.
Best served chilled
Cover with cling wrap(or whatever you have aluminum foil will work)and refrigerate until cool. Approx. 1-2 hours
Tips:
Make your 3rd layer(chocolate pudding)first so it will have time to set before you need it.
You can make the crust without chopped nuts if you prefer(it taste delicious either way)
You can also use lite cream cheese, lite cool whip, reduced fat free pudding, and fat free milk to cut down on the calories.
A little of my recipes history:
My granny made this recipe(what she called 3 tier delight)every holiday & get together until she passed away when i was 16. Her recipe was diffrent but unfortunatly, she passed away before she could pass it down to me. This is my mother-in-laws recipe and it taste very much like my granny's. This recipe is very dear to me for that reason. I hope that you & your family will enjoy this delightful dessert as much as my family has enjoyed it over the years. If you have any problems or suggestions with my recipe please let me know and i will reply as soon as possible.
