Sloppy Joe by Toddy

Category: Recipes

1 T, Oil
1 lb, Hamburger (80/20 recommended)
1 Lg, Onion, chopped
1 can(151/2 oz), Chicken Gumbo Soup, do not dilute
1 btl, (12 oz) Chili Sauce (12 oz)
1/2 to 1 T, Chili Powder, to taste
1/4 t, Cinnamon
Salt & Pepper, to taste

In large skillet or electric skillet add Oil, over medium heat. Brown hamburger and onion. Drain. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer for at least 30 minutes, longer is better.

Serve large tablespoon on hamburger bun.

Serves about 16.

My mother came up with this on night for dinner. It was in the lean years and the ingredients were what was in the pantry. It tasted so good, she began to serve it to our friends when they came over to visit. It wasn't long before they asked, when they were invited over, if she would make her Sloppy Joe mix. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
