Croque Monsieur

CROQUE MONSIEUR

Preheat oven at 325 Degrees F

Ingredients:

white bread
bistro ham (cut in the shape of the white bread)
gruyere
bechamel sauce (see recipe below)
butter
salt, pepper

Preparation:

Spread some bechamel sauce on 2 slices of bread, add 2 slices of ham and a little bit of shredded gruyere on 1 of the slice of bread, close it like a sandwich, Spread bechamel on top, add gruyere, salt and pepper and a hazelnut size of butter. Bake about 10 minutes or until goldenbrown and cheese melted.

Note: You can serve this dish as an appetizer or an entree with some French fries and a Salad.

Bechamel Sauce

For 4 Person (s)

Ingredients:

30g flour
30g butter
1/2 liter of cold milk
1tsp nutmeg
salt, pepper

Preparation:

Melt butter over low heat. Add flour. Delay (with a whisk) on low heat for several seconds until mixture is fluffy.
Add cold milk all at once. add nutmeg, Salt and pepper, stir until thickening (be patient it take few minutes before it start thickening). Cook over very low heat for ten minutes stirring occasionaly.
