Ready in: 1-2 hrs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2/3 cup root beer
***FROSTING***
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk (or more as needed)
- 1/3 cup root beer, chilled
For Cake: Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Blend at low speed, then beat for 3 minutes at medium speed. Pour into a greased and floured 12" x 8" pan. Bake at 375 degrees F for 30 to 35 minutes. Apply frosting to cooled cake. For Frosting: In a medium bowl, beat together butter, salt, powdered sugar and milk. Blend in root beer and beat until desired consistency. Spread onto cooled cake.
