Category: Recipes
1 MEDIUM ONION
3-4 CLOVES GARLIC
2 TBL OLIVE OIL
1 CHOPPED GREEN PEPPER
1 TS OREGANO
1/2 TS SWEET BASIL
SPRINKLE PARSLEY
3 TS SUGAR
1 TS PEPPER
1 TS SALT
1 46 OZ CAN TOMATO JUICE
1 15 OZ CAN TOMATO PUREE
3 CANS TOMATO PASTE (ADD 1/2 CAN OF WATER PER CAN)
1 CAN CRUSHEDTOMATO
1 LB BULK SAUSAGE
1 LB HAMBURGER
1 CUP BREWED COFFEE
Brown meat and drain. Brown onion, garlic, & pepper in olive oil. Add meat and tomato paste allowing paste to sear for a minute or so (very important). Add remaining ingredients and cook for at least an hour or two (I simmer it for 4-5 hours). Best if you let it stand overnight. I divide it into individual servings in zip lock bags and freeze it until ready for use. Hint: After cooking foe 30 minutes, add 3/4 tsp baking ssoda to reduce acidity.
