1 lb. fresh green beans
Water to cover
2 Tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 clove garlic, minced
1 bay leaf
Dash allspice
Brown sugar to taste
Cut green beans and place in medium saucepan. Add water to cover and bring to a boil. Cook for 5 minutes. Drain water. Add remaining ingredients to beans and cook 3 minutes longer. Remove bay leaf and serve
