Caramel Apple Crisp

Caramel Sauce*
1/4 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup heavy cream
Crisp:
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup sifted flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
1 can apple pie Filling
1 tbsp of butter for top of crisp

Preheat oven to 375. Melt butter in microwave; whisk in brown sugar and cream. Microwave 2 to 2 1/2 minutes until thickened. Set aside. Mix together oats, flour, salt, and baking soda. Blend in 1 cup of prepared sauce to dry ingredients (reserving 1/2 cup for later). Prepare 8x8 baking dish with cooking spray; pour in pie filling; add crisp topping and dot with 1 tbsp butter. Bake for 45 minutes. After the apple crisp is removed from the oven, pour the remaining sauce over top.
