Cheese Fondue

600 g cheese, chop
(use a mix such as Gruyère, Emmental, Brie and Camembert)
300 ml white wine
2 t cornflour
3 T Kirsch
1 clove garlic, peeled
good grinding of pepper
good grating of nutmeg

Put chopped cheese into fondue pot with wine.
Heat until boiling on hob to melt cheese.
Turn pot down to a simmer.
Mix cornflour and Kirsch in a bowl, add to pot along; add garlic clove.
Season with pepper and nutmeg, stir.
