One pan/pork chops and rice smothered in mushroom gravy

Category: Recipes

4 pork chops/steaks
1 small can cream of mushroom( cambels prefered)
1 can cream of celery
1 cup of rice(long grain or pearl)
1 hand full of fresh grean beans(canned is fine)
2 cups cold water
onion salt
season salt
Garlic powder
minced garlic
1/4 cup milk

serves 4

Start by preheating your oven to 350*F.
Then you place 1 cup of your prefered rice(not wild because it doesn't cook up as well this way)in to your 9 in. baking pan. Add to that 2 cups cold water.(making sure all the grains are in and not floting) let this soak while you prepare the rest of the meal. Now the pork chops/steaks can be seasoned to taste but this is what I use; A lite sprinkle of onion salt and season salt as well as a little dash of garlic powder. Then place the chops/steakes ontop of the bed of rice.(note you can use the same basic recipe for chicken tobut cook time will increase). Clear a corner of the pan and place your greenbeans in the same pan. Now place it in the oven. Now you have 20 minetes till the sauce goes on but go ahead and make it. Take the cream of mushroom and cellery and place in a sauce pan. To that add minced garlic;season salt;and just a tuch of milk. Heat it up but do not cook it. Once it reaches the concistancy of a soup it is ready to be used. After the meat and rice has cooked about 20 minutes add the sauce on top of everything. Cook for about 10 minutes(+/-3)longer and dish onto plates. If you wish have some fresh wild mushrooms sliced to place as garnish.
