Pumpkin Chiffon Pie

Category: Mountains

Combine in a heavy pot:
8 envelopes knox gelatin
4 cups sugar
4 tsp salt
4 tsp cinnamon
4 tsp allspice
2 tsp ginger
2 tsp nutmeg

Stir in:
6 cups milk
16 egg yolks, slightly beaten
8 cups pumpkin

Fold in:
16 egg whites, beaten
2 cups sugar
4 envelopes Dream Whip

Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture boils and gelatin dissolves. Remove from heat and chill until partially set. Beat egg whites until soft peaks form; gradually add sugar and beat to stiff peaks. Fold into pumpkin mixture with prepared Dream Whip. Pile into crust. Chill until firm. Serve with garnish of Dream Whip.
For a family size use 1/4 of the recipe.
