Charlene's Recipe

Caramel frosting

1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
2/3 cup pet milk
1 pkg confectioners' sugar
1 tsp vanilla

Combine butter, brown sugar and pet milk in the top of the double boiler. Let come to a boil, then simmer over hot water to dissolve any lumps. Add the sifted confections' sugar, a little at a time, stirring constantly. Add the vanilla and cool until of spreading consistency.
