Chocolate chip cookies

Makes about 100 cookies

2 cups sifted flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
2 eggs, beaten
2 pkgs chocolate chips
1 cup shortening
1 cup white sugar
2 tsp vanilla

Sift flour once, add baking soda and salt; sift again. Cream shortening. Add sugars gradually and cream together until light and fluffy. Add eggs and mix thoroughly. Add flour in two parts and mix well. Add chocolate chips, nuts and vanilla; mix thoroughly. Drop from teaspoon on ungreased toast pans, about 2 inches apart. Bake at 375 F for 10-12 minutes.
