Old Fashioned Sugar Cookies

Sift together:
12 cup sifted flour
6 tsp baking powder
2 tsp salt
4 cups sugar

Cut in:
4 cups butter, softened

Cut until particles are fine.
Add:
4 eggs, slightly beaten
3/4 cup pet milk
4 tsp vanilla

Blend thoroughly. Dough may be refrigerated if desired. Roll out on floured board to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into shapes with the cookie cutters. Bake st 350 F for 5-8, until delicately browned. Frost and decorate after cooled with ornamental frosting.

ICING:
Cream:
4 Tbsp butter
Blend in mixing well:
4 cups confectioners' sugar, sifted
Add:
4-8 Tbsp Pet milk (adding a little at a time)
1 tsp vanilla
Blend until frosting in consistency to spread on the cookies without running. Divide into small bowls to color.
