Cherry Cake casserole

1 box yellow cake mix
2 cup cherries with juice
1 cup sugar
1 tsp almond extract
1 tsp red food coloring
2 Tbsp cornstarch
2 Tbsp butter, melted

Pour cherry mixture evenly over batter. Bake at 350 F for 5-60 minutes. Serve warm with Dream Whip topping.
